The AFP has offices in Turkiye, United Arab Emirates, Lebanon and Jordan with responsibility for strategic and operational engagement in the Middle East and parts of Africa. Our staff help identify and disrupt criminal activities in the region.
We have a strong focus on serious and organised crime, counter-terrorism and cybercrime in the region. We are also working collaboratively with partners offshore to identify and disrupt criminal activities that impact our operational priorities and protect the Australian community.
Since the establishment of our Middle Eastern offices, we have played an integral part in evidence collection relating to Australian domestic and international counter-terrorism investigations.
The level of operational success across the region confirms the critical role offshore AFP officers play in frontline policing environments. It also reinforces the strength of our international partnerships across the globe.
