Sudan-born man charged with alleged visa breach in South Australia

A Sudan-born man is set to appear before Adelaide Magistrates Court today (16 September, 2024) charged with allegedly failing to comply with his visa-mandated conditions.

The AFP charged the man, 42, on Friday, 13 September, after he was located in Adelaide, South Australia.

It will be alleged the man breached a condition of his Commonwealth visa by failing to fit a monitoring device.

The man has been charged with failure to fit a monitoring device, contrary to s76(D)(2) of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).

This offence carries a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment and/or a $93,900 fine.
