Royal Solomon Islands Police Force - AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP)
The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force and AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) is designed to continue to shape the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force's (RSIPF) capabilities to deliver a standard policing model for the Solomon Islands. The AFP provides technical assistance and operational enabling assistance to support RSIPF with operational delivery of policing services in Solomon Islands to identify, target and combat emerging crime and security issues.
One of the key elements of the RAPPP is partnerships. Supporting local businesses helps the Solomon Islands community build employment opportunities and the economy.
Solomons International Assistance Force (SIAF)
As a result of the civil unrest in November 2021, the Solomon Islands Government (SIG) enacted the bilateral security treaty between Australia and Solomon Islands. Subsequently, police and Defence members were deployed from Australia to assist the RSIPF to restore law and order.
Since SIAF’s deployment we continue to provide operational police services in support of the RSIPF to maintain peace and security.
SIAF is a police-led response, supported by military components, which brings together contingents from the AFP, RSIPF, the Australian Defence Force, New Zealand Defence Force and the Republic of Fiji Military. SIAF also works closely with police from Papua New Guinea and New Zealand.
