Our work in Samoa

Samoa Australian Policing Partnership program

Samoa

We have a strong relationship with the Samoa Police, Prisons and Corrections Services (SPPCS) through the AFP led Samoa-Australia Police Partnership (SAPP) program to maintain a safe and stable Samoa.

Advocacy for gender diversity remains at the forefront of all SAPP initiatives. In addition to SAPP, we are committed to enhancing engagement and fostering collaboration with the SPPCS through a range of initiatives, including:

  • Pacific Police Development Program-Regional (PPDP-R)
  • Pacific Transnational Crime Network (PTCN)
  • Pacific Faculty of Policing (PFP)
  • Pacific Community for Law Enforcement Cooperation (PCLEC).

We have AFP personnel based in Samoa who support a range of operational and strategic priorities identified with the Samoa Police Service (SPS).

Samoan Police Force prepare for National Day

The SAPP is a vital partnership that has contributed significantly to the development of our police force over the years. We appreciate the continued support of the AFP and Australia Government in enhancing the capabilities of our police force and improving the safety and security of our communities.
