A West Australian man is scheduled to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today (5 April, 2026) charged with allegedly smashing the windows of an AFP vehicle at Perth Airport.

The AFP will allege the man, 52, threw a rock at the parked vehicle on 1 April, 2026, which smashed through both the passenger-side and the driver’s side front windows.

Officers responded to a report concerning the vehicle, which was parked at the corner of Brearley Avenue and Snook Road while members were patrolling a nearby terminal.

When officers arrived, they found the front windows of the vehicle had been smashed.

Subsequent inquiries resulted in AFP officers locating a man, 52, on a bus at the Airport’s Terminal One.

The man was charged with one count of damaging Commonwealth property, contrary to section 132.8A of the Criminal Code (Cth). The maximum penalty for this offence is 10 years’ imprisonment.
