Sudan-born man charged with alleged visa breach in NSW

A Sudan-born man is set to appear before Campbelltown Local Court today (11 March, 2026) charged with allegedly failing to comply with his visa-mandated curfew conditions.  

The AFP charged the man, 31, yesterday (10 March, 2026), after he was located in Sydney, NSW. 

It will be alleged the man breached a condition of his Commonwealth visa by failing to observe his residential curfew obligations.  

The man has been charged with:  

  • One count of failing to comply with a curfew condition, contrary to section 76C(1) of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth). 

The offence carries a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment and/or a $99,000 fine.
