Kenya-born man charged with one alleged visa breach in Victoria
A Kenya-born man is set to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today (27 August, 2024) charged with allegedly failing to comply with his visa-mandated curfew conditions.
The AFP charged the man, 40, today (27 August, 2024), after he was located in Melbourne.
It will be alleged the man breached one of the conditions of his Commonwealth visa on 16 August, 2024 by failing to observe his residential curfew obligations.
The man has been charged with:
- One count of failing to comply with a curfew condition, contrary to section 76C(1) of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).
This offence carries a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment and/or a $93,900 fine for each offence.
