Further child exploitation charges for Elizabeth man

On Monday, 30 May, the South Australian Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (JACET) charged a 26-year-old northern suburbs man with possession of aggravated child exploitation material.

It will be alleged that the children depicted are under the age of 14 years. His computer was seized and examined by investigators, who allegedly identified additional offending against a child.

Today, the man was further charged with four counts of production of aggravated child exploitation material and two counts of aggravated procuring of a child to commit an indecent act.

Commander Glen McEwen of the Australian Federal Police’s Victim Based Crime Unit explained “A first arrest does not always mean the end of an investigation. Ongoing enquiries have been fruitful and have resulted in additional charges against this person.”

He was refused police bail and is expected to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court this afternoon.

JACET is a taskforce bringing together the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and the SA Police to combat online child sexual exploitation.

Members of the public who have any information about people involved in child exploitation material are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at https://sa.crimestoppers.com.au
