Our Criminal Records team contributes to keeping Australia safe. The team provides National Police Certificate checks and criminal history information to all policing jurisdictions and other government agencies.
Criminal Records team members work across multiple roles, so you'll build plenty of diverse experience.
What you’ll do
There are 3 key areas in Criminal Records:
Vetting – provides National Police Certificate checks, contract management and liaises closely with various stakeholders
Data Integrity – records and interprets court outcomes and verifies criminal histories
Response – provides criminal history information for policing jurisdictions and other government and investigative agencies.
In this role, you'll:
create, update and maintain high-quality and accurate information in a high-tempo environment
respond to requests for information from stakeholders and agencies
conduct project work
liaise with clients
administer contracts
understand and interpret relevant legislation
help to minimise bureaucracy and create efficiency
drive technological advancement and automation in service delivery.

Eligibility
To join the Criminal Records Unit you must be:
aged 18 years or over
an Australian citizen
able to obtain a high-level security clearance.
It's a role with plenty of high-volume data processing, so experience in this kind of environment will help.
You must also be able to understand and interpret Commonwealth legislation.
