Services for government
The AFP provides a range of investigation and operational support, security risk management, security vetting and information services to assist other government agencies. This section details these services, including:
- national police checks and freedom of information requests.
- computer forensics and other forensic services in the AFP's state-of-the-art laboratories
- hosting conferences relating to law enforcement such as the Fraud Liaison Forum.
- protective security for the Governor General, Federal Parliamentarians, the National Witness Protection Program, internationally-protected persons when they are in Australia, certain holders of high Commonwealth office, and protection during special events.
- Security risk management provides advice to Australian Government agencies and authorities, as well as and companies and private sector organisations dealing with Commonwealth interests.
