Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC)

PCYC logo

The Canberra Police and Citizens Youth Club Incorporated (PCYC) started life as the Police Boys Club in 1957, under the auspices of then ACT Police. The premises in Turner were built in 1960 and was followed by a second facility in 1983.

The primary focus of the PCYC is to assist youth who may be at risk of lapsing into, or continuing, criminal activity.

The Crime Prevention team at ACT Policing staffs the PCYC with sworn and unsworn members to conduct a wide range of programs for youth at risk. The PCYC offers a safe environment to allow youth to develop socially and to understand the disciplines required for a successful life.

The RecLINK program at the PCYC is managed by a sworn police officer. RecLINK conducts outreach programs at the Quamby Juvenile Centre, youth centres, refuges and schools to support youth at risk and to assist them to develop well-directed and purposeful lives.

The Canberra PCYC is an important crime prevention initiative.

Please see the PCYC website for more information.
